The Missing Link: IT Savvy Sales Guy – Sydney based – Looking for a JOB!
If you are Sydney based, I might have a good guy for you to look at.
His name is Mark and he has been selling IT for most of his working life. He understands the convergence of technology and loves sitting in front of customers discussing their IT needs.
His current role is selling MANAGED SERVICE SOLUTIONS!
Here is why I think he could be great for those of you coming from the print side of the equation:
- Firstly, he understands the selling process. In other words, he knows when to ‘hold ’em and when to fold ’em’. Thus he is happy to be the ‘wing man’ and let the salesperson run the show and the relationship with the end -user. He would like to operate as a resource for your people in the field to take out on calls – acting as a key component of the Four Legged Salescall.
- Secondly, you will be able to afford him. He has a few ‘miles on the clock’ and whilst he loves selling, he finds it very difficult to keep finding the energy for cold calling. So he would be happy on a solid base with a bit of upside commission. This means he would spend his day doing what he enjoys most: talking to SMEs about their IT landscape and helping them find a solution.
- Finally, he doesn’t think he knows it all. He is always willing to learn.
In other words, he seems to fit the bill as the guy who your reps can take into the field to discuss the wider landscape and will be a guy that understands what you reps are trying to achieve.
We are not trying to become the next SEEK, but I thought I would put this out there because ‘do you know someone?’ is the most common question I get asked – and as it turns out, this time I do!
