SER BULLETIN: DIGITAL SIGNATURES

Due to an increased focus on compliance, fraud regulations and “Know your customer” laws, there has been a review of digital signing by our funding panel. This has resulted in Digital Signatures (outside of Docusign via Finance Oxygen) and the use of an email trail for digitally signed documents to be deemed no longer acceptable. This is due to concerns and recent examples where contracts are not enforceable in a court of law, as these email trails are not secure and are difficult to be authenticated.

This is one of the reasons why SER has invested in developing Finance Oxygen to provide our partners with an easy-to-use DocuSign option.

This is an authorised and secure signing process due to the use of Two-Factor Authentication and DocuSign being considered  a secure signing platform. This also provides added security for your customer in ensuring that only authorised staff members are signing on behalf of their company.

The only requirements for DocuSign via Finance Oxygen is to provide the signatories mobile number and an email address that is personally identifiable and from a work domain related to the entity. Note if a customer doesn’t want to Docusign they can “wet ink” sign the contract and scan/send the documents back.
