How flexible is your finance? In the Managed Services environment that exists today, this is the question that you must ask and keep asking.
If you try and do business today the way you did it even 5 years ago, you will be in for disappointment. Think about David Warner, Australian cricket’s barnstorming opening batsman. As good as he is, imagine if he had to go out there with a five year old bat. The result – he would go pretty well until he slightly mistimed one and got caught 20 metres in from the boundary. However, if he was using a new bat, that incorporated the latest technology, we would all be watching some bloke six rows back dropping his beer as he tries to pull off the crowd catch of the century.
So it is with Managed Services. Your new bat comes in the form of flexibility. We all know that the future lies in enhancing your customer’s experiences with you, so that you are invited to look at more of their technology landscape.
Without the right bat in your hands you will be found wanting and your customer’s experience will soon be with someone else.
So make sure your finance partner has the flexibility around funding options, variations, pricing, invoicing, collections, and finance agreements.
If what they offer is simply business as usual, then you should be looking to supply your team with a new bat to make sure they don’t get caught out.
